Tainan Art Museum | The Untold Stories of Conserving WONG Kun-De’s Art and Huang, Po-Hsun Solo Exhibition
I’ve always been intrigued by the restoration of artworks, so when I learned that the Tainan Art Museum had an exhibition related to this theme, I was eager to visit. To my surprise, I discovered that the artist behind this exhibition was someone very modest and was also from my husband’s hometown of Chiayi. He received an education in Japan and has made significant contributions to Taiwanese culture and art, yet he has remained humble and hasn’t held solo exhibitions. In this exhibition at the Tainan Art Museum, it’s featuring works by WONG Kun-De that had been restored for the public to appreciate. His art is simple and close to life, making it very enjoyable to view. I want to express my gratitude to the Tainan Art Museum and the collaboration of restoration experts from various fields who used scientific testing and advanced restoration techniques to allow us, the future generations, to continue enjoying these beautiful artworks.
Another exhibition that left a deep impression on me was “YESTERDAY SCENERY, THE TOMORROW FLARE” by Huang, Po-Hsun. These artworks are delightful and filled with vibrant colors, featuring imaginative and surreal scenes that bring joy to those who view them.
