Two years ago I started to suffer stomach discomfort. I went to the doctors and did Endoscopy. They couldn’t figure out why but put me on anti-acid medicine for months and I started to develop bad constipation. So, they told me take stool softener. Things were not getting better. I still felt my stomach acting weird and no matter what I ate I suffered from it. My nutritionist friend told me about a diet call “FODMAP” so I followed it. I started to notice that by following this diet, I could slowly figure out what foods are symptomatic to me. However, still, there was some mysterious food causing my discomfort. One day, when I browsed my Facebook page, Food Marble popped up. It interested me so I decided to give it a try because it will cost 5 times of its price to get the test done by the hospitals. I wanted to share my experience of Food Marble for first two testing pouches: Inulin and Fructose.

As you can see, the readings were really low so I thought inulin is not my trigger food group. The next day, I did the test for fructose. The readings were the same and I felt fine as well. However, two days later, I had symptoms that were bad. I didn’t have any food that I was not supposed to eat so I thought it must have something to do with the tests I did two days ago. I saw articles saying some people have fructose malabsorption delayed reaction. It might be the cause. I shouldn’t have done the tests two days in a roll. I should have waited for two weeks until all the symptoms are clear and do the next test. The symptoms lasted for three days but Food Marble didn’t detect anything unusual. I would say it might be because the gas my digestive system produces is not hydrogen. Although the readings didn’t reflect how I felt, it still helped me to learn inulin and fructose are the food groups that I should avoid. I hope my experience can help people who are thinking about getting Food Marble.
