Chimei Museum | Outside the box! Christoph Niemann

在奇美博物館 「跳出格子吧!」 特展最後面的藝術家， Christoph Niemann之作品讓我印象很深刻，因為他娓娓道出所有創作藝術家的煩惱。當時看到的我，在心裡會心一笑，他怎麼講出我心中的痛點，但是我沒有感覺到難過，而是謝謝他講得這麼真誠，讓我想要跟一樣一起努力下去。他說他的人生有三個淒慘無比的恐懼，問題一：我不夠好；問題二：我的作品不夠好，而我快破產了；問題三：我沒有靈感了。在他檢視他的作品之後，他有時候會覺得自己的作品怎麼品質沒那麼好，怎麼會有觀眾喜歡，覺得很丟臉，但在我們這些連畫隻手指頭都畫不出優美線條的人眼裏，他的作品簡直是美呆了！所以我們大家都要告訴自己，其實自己很棒！不要再對自己這麼的嚴格了。然而他的解決方法是什麼呢？第一：練習然後變得更厲害；第二：擔心懷疑和痛苦掙扎；第三：創作。他在這個壁畫裡面道出，將作品刊登在社交媒體可以快速地了解作品是否受到喜愛，但是越多的點贊率不代表是越好的作品。他勉勵大家還是要提醒自己創作出打動人心，讓人難以忘懷的作品。我想他做到了，他在奇美的展出讓我刻骨銘心，著實可以得到極高的點贊率，也非常的令人一再尋味。

At the Chimei Museum, the artwork of Christoph Niemann  in the “Outside the Box!” special exhibition left a lasting impression on me. He eloquently expressed the anxieties that all creative artists face. As I viewed his work, I couldn’t help but smile inwardly. He seemed to pinpoint the very concerns that I, like many others, have experienced. However, instead of feeling distressed, I felt grateful for his genuine portrayal of these feelings, which inspired me to continue. He shared that in his life, he has three fears that make his life miserable: First, the fear that “I’m not good enough.” Second, the fear that “My work is irrelevant, and soon I’ll be broke.” Third, the fear that “I am out of ideas.” Upon reviewing his own work, he sometimes questions the quality of his creations and how they could possibly resonate with an audience, even feeling embarrassed. However, to those of us who can’t even draw a graceful line of our own fingers, his work is simply amazing. So, it’s important for all of us to remind ourselves that we are indeed remarkable. We don’t need to be so harsh on ourselves.

But what is his solution? First: practice and become better. Second: worry, doubt and agonize . Third: create. In this mural, he agreed the idea of sharing your work on social media can quickly receive responses from the audience. However, he emphasized that more likes and shares do not necessarily mean it’s a better piece of art. He encouraged everyone to remember that the goal is to create something that touches hearts and remains unforgettable. I believe he achieved this with his exhibition at Chimei, leaving a deep impression on me and he surely can get high praise from those who viewed his work on social media.
