15 Years Old Kitchen DIY Renovation of A Manhattan Condo – Part 6 : Installing Base Cabinets

Installing base cabinet was the only part that I can not do it on my own because the counter top was too heavy. Therefore, I hired a contractor to help me. I assembled the Ikea cabinets beforehand so the contractor only needed to do the heavy lifting part. They helped me took down the back splash stone, the counter top, and removing the old base cabinets. Lastly, they installed the assembled cabinets and put the counter top back. It sounded easy but it took patience to remove counter top and back splash gently, not to mention the weight of the counter top required three big guys.

1. The base cabinet for the sink.
2. My little assistant was helping me to nail.
3. Assembling the drawers for the base cabinets.
4. Removing the sink and the countertop required three strong buys to finish the job.
5. Starting with the under sink cabinet.
6. Another base cabinet for the counter top on the left. It was hanging there by some books and shelf!
