15 Years Old Kitchen DIY Renovation of A Manhattan Condo – Part 5 : The Range Hood Ducting

One of the reason that I wanted a renovation is that to install a range hood for my kitchen. I cooked everyday and the grease trapped inside of my kitchen because there was no proper ventilation. We have a ventilation but it is far from the range hood so I need to design a ducting that works for me.

1. Suspension rail is a very important supporting system for IKEA cabinets. It is crucial to make sure it be installed properly.

2. The ventilation that I will connect the ducting with.

3.The wall cabinet that is above the fridge. There is some ventilation so it won’t get overheated.

4. I didn’t have a circular cutter so I needed to be creative. I drilled holes as the starting hole and used handsaw to cut a square.

5. Same method for them all.

6. It took me two days to these frames ready. Cutting with hand saw is no fun.

7. They were perfectly lining up on the wall. The holes for ducting were align pretty well!

8. The hole on the right cabinet was in different location because that was where the range hood pipe came in.

9. The ventilation was ready to go.
