15 Years Old Bathroom DIY Renovation of A Manhattan Condo – Part 2: Starting with the Under the Sink Cabinet

After upgrading kitchen cabinets, I got spoiled by the drawer storage. Therefore, when I designed my new bathroom, adding drawer storage was a must. I started my bathroom project with the cabinet because it required little demolition. From my research, I found out I could use Ikea kitchen drawers for my cabinet. Their width matched and Ikea kitchen drawers have many variety of depth.

1. I removed the doors of the cabinet.
2. Installing Ikea Maximera Drawers. The base cabinet was not built for ikea drawers so I needed to precisely measure where to fasten the hardware.
3. The size choice was perfect for my cabinet.
4. Fitting the drawers into its track.
5. They matched perfectly! Two drawers that actually store items were all set.
6. The top part also needed a cover so it looked like a drawer front.
7. Ikea cabinet is slight taller than my bathroom cabinet so a little trimming was required.
8. The drawer in the middle needed some alteration as well because the pipe was blocking its way.
9. Now the drawer can be closed.
10. The drawer front was completed. Now it’s time for the cover by the sides.
11. Ikea cover panel was way too big for my cabinet so cutting was necessary.
12. It fitted perfectly
13. The drawer in the middle needed more work because it needed some kind of barrier so the items wouldn’t fall off.
14. It fits perfectly.
